Lizzo said Monday she's rewriting the lyrics to "Grrrls" after complaints from the disability community.

An anti-disability slur appears in the song, which Lizzo released on Friday and is part of her new album, "Special."

"Someone has pointed out that the term "GRRRLS" in my new song "GRRRLS" is offensive. Let me be crystal clear: I do not condone the use of insulting language in any form "the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter stated on Instagram.

"As a fat black woman in America, I've had many hateful words used against me so I understand the power words can have (whether intentionally or in my case unintentionally). I'm proud to say there's a new version of GRRRLS with a lyric change."
